On May 23rd the NSPCC are asking people to go green in Wales. The campaign is in aid of ChildLine School Services.
You can GO Green in any way you like, as long as it’s green, you can do it. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Pay a £1 and wear something green for the day. Have a green uniform day, paint your face, wear a green hat, dye your hair or create a green fancy dress costume.
- Hold a green food day and be sponsored to eat a mountain of sprouts or bathe in a bath of green mushy peas.
- Have a green goodie stall and sell green cakes and sweet treats.
How ChildLine School Services works.
Whether on phone or online, Childline is available 365 days a year to support children and young people, whatever their worry.
The ChildLine Schools Service recruits and trains volunteers to talk to primary school children about different forms of abuse and ways to stay safe.
After completing the recruitment and training process, volunteers visit primary schools in their local area and deliver empowering assemblies and workshops.
These will give children the confidence to talk about different types of abuse including bullying, offer support to friends and ask for help if they need it.

At Party world UK we are always bringing attention to some worthwhile fundraising events. Well now we are very pleased and proud to bring attention to one of our very own and encourage people to donate for race for life.
One of our colleagues took part in race for life for the first time last year and she managed to raise over £100 all on her own! That was a great achievement so this year we want to help and raise even more awareness to help her smash her target from last year.
Race for life helps so many people and families that are affected by the horrible disease cancer. This is a fantastic and worthwhile cause to help in the fight against this horrible illness and help in the treatment and development of treatments so that more and more people each year can say they have beaten it.
Last year Karen completed the Race for life 5K in Cardiff and completed it in 42 minutes which is amazing. This year she is hoping to run the whole course and beat last years time, if she manages this then she has the 10K in her sights for 2015.
After completing this race once she was adamant that she would compete every year there after. It is a charity that is close to her heart and she wants to help in any way she can. We would also like to encourage others to take part also. Race for life takes place in many different areas all over Britain so you are sure to find a race to compete in near you. If you are unable to compete then please donate to someone, even if it is just £1 as those £1’s make all the difference.
We have included the Just giving page details for Karen’s charity page so that you know it is all secure and we will post a copy of the confirmation letter once all the donations have been paid in full. Please help this fantastic cause. Many thanks.

A fantastic runner set to take on London marathon, barefoot!
Jonathan Barrow from Ripon has said he will run the London marathon barefoot, in fancy dress and with his hands tied together if he can get a sponsor for £7000.
The reason behind this is Jonathan would like to donate the money to a charity called Starlight Childrens Foundation, a charity that grants the wishes of seriously and terminally ill children. The charity will then use the money to provide entertainment in hospitals and hospices across the UK and send 8 year old Jack Rookes and his family to take a trip to Disneyworld, Florida.
Jack was diagnose with cystic fibrosis when he was a toddler. Cystic Fibrosis is a life shortening illness that severely effects the major organs of the body particularly the lungs.
Mr Barrow says his feet are already sore as he has been training and competing races in the run up to the London marathon.
Mr Barrow, 36, said he would run barefoot if his sponsorship topped £3,000, barefoot and in fancy dress for more than £5,000 and barefoot and in fancy dress with his arms tied together for in excess of £7,000.
He said: “The work Starlight does to bring smiles and happy memories to seriously and terminally ill children is wonderful and I am really thrilled to be supporting it.
“I feel compelled to do what I can to help Jack achieve his dream and bring some sunshine into what has been a difficult start to life.”
Although PartyWorld UK are not directly linked to this amazing story we would love to bring more awareness to this to help Mr Barrow raise as much sponsorship as possible.
Please click on the Virgin money link and donate whatever you can to help this worthwhile cause.

A Fancy dress challenge for charity has been set by a young woman called Samantha Humphreys. Samantha, 29, has been wearing 30 different outfits, 1 per day, leading up to her 30th birthday.
As well as it being a bit of fun, Samantha has set herself a £300 target to raise for a children’s cancer charity. Costumes include Madonna, Tinkerbell, Dorothy, Minnie Mouse and many more.
She said: ‘I love dressing up – this is perfect for me. Because it’s coming up to my 30th, everyone was asking me what I wanted or what I was doing.
‘I just thought I want to do something different, not what everyone else does.’
She has borrowed, hired, and acquired other outfits from many different places to complete her own challenge of wearing the 30 different costumes before her birthday on April 12th.
Samantha from Neath in South Wales is donating all the money that she raises to children’s cancer charity Clic Sargeant. An amazing worth while cause.

There are always charity runs and different events and Party World UK have discovered another fantastic event being held just up the road in the neighbouring City of Swansea.
The Fancy Dress Triathlon is being held in Port Eynon, Gower on 27th September 2014.
The triathlon consists of a 400m swim a 16km bike ride and a 5 km run. The run is open to both men and women of all fitness levels who feel they are capable of competing.
The fancy dress element is nice and easy as there is no set theme so you can wear whatever you would like. Our best recommendation is to wear something that is going to be nice and cool as you will no doubt get very warm competing in the event.
We have hundreds of different fancy dress options available which will be comfortable and reasonably priced so that it does not cost you the earth.
Why not have a look at their website and maybe even sign up to take part! www.fancydresstri.com
