A fantastic runner set to take on London marathon, barefoot!
Jonathan Barrow from Ripon has said he will run the London marathon barefoot, in fancy dress and with his hands tied together if he can get a sponsor for £7000.
The reason behind this is Jonathan would like to donate the money to a charity called Starlight Childrens Foundation, a charity that grants the wishes of seriously and terminally ill children. The charity will then use the money to provide entertainment in hospitals and hospices across the UK and send 8 year old Jack Rookes and his family to take a trip to Disneyworld, Florida.
Jack was diagnose with cystic fibrosis when he was a toddler. Cystic Fibrosis is a life shortening illness that severely effects the major organs of the body particularly the lungs.
Mr Barrow says his feet are already sore as he has been training and competing races in the run up to the London marathon.
Mr Barrow, 36, said he would run barefoot if his sponsorship topped £3,000, barefoot and in fancy dress for more than £5,000 and barefoot and in fancy dress with his arms tied together for in excess of £7,000.
He said: “The work Starlight does to bring smiles and happy memories to seriously and terminally ill children is wonderful and I am really thrilled to be supporting it.
“I feel compelled to do what I can to help Jack achieve his dream and bring some sunshine into what has been a difficult start to life.”
Although PartyWorld UK are not directly linked to this amazing story we would love to bring more awareness to this to help Mr Barrow raise as much sponsorship as possible.

A Fancy dress challenge for charity has been set by a young woman called Samantha Humphreys. Samantha, 29, has been wearing 30 different outfits, 1 per day, leading up to her 30th birthday.
As well as it being a bit of fun, Samantha has set herself a £300 target to raise for a children’s cancer charity. Costumes include Madonna, Tinkerbell, Dorothy, Minnie Mouse and many more.
She said: ‘I love dressing up – this is perfect for me. Because it’s coming up to my 30th, everyone was asking me what I wanted or what I was doing.
‘I just thought I want to do something different, not what everyone else does.’
She has borrowed, hired, and acquired other outfits from many different places to complete her own challenge of wearing the 30 different costumes before her birthday on April 12th.
Samantha from Neath in South Wales is donating all the money that she raises to children’s cancer charity Clic Sargeant. An amazing worth while cause.

Once again an example of a fantastic person raising money for a charity and using Fancy Dress to help her achieve this. Fancy dress is not just for fun and games is can also be used to help raise money for people in need.

There are always charity runs and different events and Party World UK have discovered another fantastic event being held just up the road in the neighbouring City of Swansea.
The Fancy Dress Triathlon is being held in Port Eynon, Gower on 27th September 2014.
The triathlon consists of a 400m swim a 16km bike ride and a 5 km run. The run is open to both men and women of all fitness levels who feel they are capable of competing.
The fancy dress element is nice and easy as there is no set theme so you can wear whatever you would like. Our best recommendation is to wear something that is going to be nice and cool as you will no doubt get very warm competing in the event.
We have hundreds of different fancy dress options available which will be comfortable and reasonably priced so that it does not cost you the earth.
Why not have a look at their website and maybe even sign up to take part! www.fancydresstri.com
Party World UK are pleased to say that we now have a selection of some of the new costumes and accessories out this year in stock in store!
Our suppliers are constantly bringing out new items and we attempt to keep as many different items in stock as possible and over the past couple of weeks we have been doing just that!
We have had a range of some of the new 1970’s costumes come into stock for both men and women. We have a couple of sizes in stock but more are available to order.
As well as 1970’s we have also had some burlesque tutus in stock, new convict costumes and 1920’s flapper costumes.
All these items are available to view on our website as well as in the shop. If we don’t have the item in stock that you would like then we are always able to order items in to stock for you as long as the item is in stock with our suppliers.
We provide two changing rooms for you to try on these amazing new costumes so that you can make sure that they fit you comfortably.
We attempt to keep as up to date as possible with the new items that are being brought out and we will continue to be stocking more and more of the new lines over the coming weeks so why not pop in and have a look through our extensive range, or through our catalogues.
This week sees World Book Day come to a school near you! Party World UK has a wide selection of children’s fancy dress costumes.
We stock children’s costumes from age 3 all the way up to age 12, and if your child is a bit taller than your average 12 years old then we also have a wide range of adult costumes in a size small too! We also have a dressing room so that your little ones can try the costumes on so that you can make sure that they fit.
We understand that you would not want to spend a fortune on a costume that is only for the one day so our children’s costumes start from an amazing £9.99!
We keep as big a selection as possible in stock and have some great characters to choose from. The Gruffolo, Horrid Henry, Oliver and even Harry Potter! We also have accessories for some characters too if you didn’t want the full costume such as Harry Potter wands and glasses. Thinking of a Roald Dahl theme? Then why not go for a fox costume for Fantastic Mr Fox or a crocodile costume for the enormous crocodile? There are loads to choose from but hurry up before they sell out!
We are open until 5pm tonight and are open again from 8.30am tomorrow morning for any last minute bits and pieces that you may need, so why not pop along and have a look at what we have left in stock.
We would like to say a big welcome to Partyworld UK our new website. We have been doing some maintenance to the website over the past few weeks and we thank you for your patience. The work is still going on but are hoping to be finished within the next few weeks. Rather than leave the site completely unusable we have opened it up so that you are able to still view the costumes and accessories available and we will be adding sizes during the rest of our maintenance.
We are uploading all new costumes that are now on the market and all the old favourites. All the costumes are from our very well known suppliers and we stock only the best.
Although the website may still be under construction our shop is still open for business as usual and we still have a large selection of different themes and an extensive selection of accessories still available. You are also more than welcome to browse through the catalogues we have in the shop to see if there was anything you would like us to order for you.
We are especially looking forward to getting into stock the new lines that some of our suppliers are bringing out over the coming year. Earlier this month the annual spring fayre took place in Birmingham where all our suppliers bring out there new products to showcase. There are some amazing new costumes that are coming out so keep your eyes peeled for some ingenious ideas.
